Company Vision

Navigating the Offshore Installation Maze with First Principles Engineering

The offshore construction industry, and offshore wind in particular, has been a transformative force.

As a maritime professional based in Western Europe, Satish Prabhakar has been an actor in as well as a benefactor of said transformation for the best part of 15 years. A wide variety of experiences gained through roles ranging from naval architect, installation engineer, heavy lift consultant and Owner’s/ Client’s representative onboard vessels has helped provide a broad vantage point on the flows and ebbs of our industry.

The Vision is to serve Clients as-required and an a “no frills” basis.

  • In many projects there is a high likelihood to spend beyond their budget or overshoot deadlines before they even start. Improper specifications, misplaced requirements and poor handover from Sales/ Tendering to Projects play a huge role in that

  • Our drive would be to simply drill down to what is needed. Effectively, and early in the process, make an action plan with the project stakeholders

  • Put together customised packets for installation works based on the formulated plan, and not simply accept what a provider offers as “standard” packet

  • Standardisation is a huge benefit only if it is applied with proper judgment. Some Wind projects in execution have suffered from blind spots born out of a faulty precedent. Therefore, our approach is to:

  1. build a minimalist product,
  2. look at relevant precedents and
  3. add every layer of complexity after evaluation and strictly on an as-needed basis

At SP Maritime we have honed our radar for spotting inefficiencies early in the process. By asking the right questions, sometimes conflicting ones, and working with you we aim to maximise your project performance.
